Nationally-trained child passenger safety technicians will be available to educate caregivers on proper installation of child restraints and best practice guidelines. Parents and child caregivers can make sure car seats are properly installed in vehicles through this program. For those who drive up, they will be given the information upon arrival.
For those who make an appointment, they will be given the instructions beforehand.
Technicians will use hand sanitizer after helping a family to ensure they clean for the next family. After the person has been helped they will return the clipboard and it will be wiped down with Cavid Wipes to ensure it is sanitized for the next person. For those who remain in their car, there will be a waiting area in the same lane as the car in front of them but they will be a parking space length apart. If people want to get out of the car, there will designated spaces where they will stand. The adult receiving the education will fill out the paperwork while in their car and keep it until it is their turn to be helped.Attendees are encouraged to only bring the necessary people to the car seat check. There will be no more than three technicians attending the event.
We will do our best to only have 10 people at a time at the check, including the technician and participants. The only people allowed to be near the car are the technician and the family receiving the education and installation help. The spaces will be marked off by numbers created on the pavement and by cones. Cars will be three parking spaces apart, which is more than the recommended 6 feet for social distancing. All car seat technicians and those receiving the education/installation help will need to wear masks at all times.
